Women Rising Meet The Authors - Danielle Pendleton
Welcome to the*WOMEN RISING* Meet The Authors series.
I am honoured that these women chose to join me on this journey and share their stories. I would like to introduce you to some of the amazing humans that you will connect with as you flip through the pages of this book...
What is Women Rising?
It is a book written for YOU. A safe space to land where you will feel safe, heard & validated in ALL your feelings and experiences. Here, we will remind you that you are not alone when the world feels heavy & that you are capable of rising above even when life gets hard. Obstacles are inevitable, growth it optional. The ability to see it that way - is beautiful.
Meet Danielle.
Hey I'm Danielle: a not-so-closet nerd who’s a sucker for numbers, spreadsheets, MCU/Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings references and delicious food. I love long walks on the beach - no, I’m not kidding - along with advocating for neurodiversity and mental health, as well as helping others through my business, travelling the world and learning new languages feed my soul. My 90lb beast of a pup (Lleial) and rescue-kitty (Skittles) remind me that you can find joy in the slightest things, and to continue thriving on challenges because I see them as growth opportunities.
What inspired you to apply to the Women Rising co-author project?
I've lived most of my life being told "No", that I couldn't do or be things, and have often been labelled, assumed and told who/what I "was". I've had enough and wholeheartedly believe in being the change that you want to see in the world and hope that my speaking up can help at least one human.
What's something you learned about yourself through writing?
I'm actually pretty badass and strong as hell, and can help others by sharing my vulnerabilities and sunshine.
What do you hope readers walk way with after reading your chapter in Women Rising?
A better understanding of ADHD and openness/grace towards those with Neurodivergencies, as well as hope, inspiration, and strength for those struggling.
As a woman dedicated to Rising, what advice you would give someone that is currently struggling or going through some hard things? What could you tell her to support her in rising above?
You've got this. Even when it doesn't feel like it, trust me. Think of all of the things that you *have* accomplished, from not only being a child, teen, or early adult but even in the last bit. You are the only person who will be in your life from start to finish, so it's time that you treat yourself as such, and practice self-grace and self-forgiveness.Surround yourself with people that you not only trust and love (with it going both ways), but who can support and help you. There is no shame is asking for help, or for talking about your struggles - especially when fighting your personal battles. Still tough? Reach out to me 💜
